The markets of the Middle East and North Africa are important for Ukrainian sugar producers as an alternative to the European one, which is currently limited by quota.

In the 2024/25 marketing year, almost 90% of the exported 500 thousand tons went to these destinations. Among the leading importers of Ukrainian sugar are Turkey, Libya, Lebanon, Somalia, Jordan, Cameroon. At the same time, Ukrainian sugar producers are ready to further expand the geography of exports in the region and count on the support of the ministry in this matter.
