Ukraine maintains a positive trade balance in dairy products

In April 2025, Ukraine increased its dairy export revenue, driven by a favorable euro exchange rate, growing demand for certain products, and a seasonal decline in milk production in Oceania.

In April 2025, Ukraine exported 11.9 thousand tonnes of dairy products.

Compared to March 2025, physical export volumes decreased by 3%, but they increased by 8% compared to April 2024.

The main export products in April were: butter – 33%; condensed milk and cream – 26%; ice cream – 18%; cheeses – 15%.

Export revenue in April increased by 2% compared to March 2025 and by 46% compared to April 2024, reaching $38.7 million. From January to April 2025, Ukraine exported 43.1 thousand tonnes (+16%) of dairy products worth $128.5 million (+53%).

In April 2025, Ukraine imported 5.2 thousand tonnes of dairy products valued at $27.1 thousand. Compared to March 2025, physical import volumes decreased by 10%, and compared to April 2024, they decreased by 0.4%. From January to March 2025, Ukraine imported 20.6 thousand tonnes (+9%) of dairy products worth $102.3 million (+10%). The largest share of total import volumes was attributed to cheeses (65%).
