Agro-exports by road transport increased by 10.5% in May

In May, there was an increase in the volume of agro-exports by road transport at all borders. The total export volume increased by 10.5% compared to April, reaching 324,200 tons.

The largest growth in agro-product shipments for the month was observed at the Moldovan and Romanian borders, where exports increased by 22.5% and 13%, to 56,500 tons and 80,500 tons, respectively.

At the Polish and Slovak border crossings, the volume increased by 7.3% and 6.5%, reaching 131,600 tons and 16,900 tons, respectively.

The smallest increase was recorded at the Hungarian border, where agro-product shipments increased by only 3.1%, to 38,800 tons.

The main export commodities for the month were sugar (39,100 tons) and sunflower oil (34,700 tons).

Over the first two days of June, the volume of agro-exports by road transport reached 19,500 tons.

The cost of road transport for domestic routes decreased by an average of $2, while prices for European routes remained unchanged.

As a reminder, logistics accounts for approximately 10–15% of the cost of agricultural products.
