Ukraine reduced electricity exports by over 40%

In May, Ukraine reduced its electricity exports by more than 40% compared to the previous month, reaching 92,500 MWh.

According to monitoring data, the largest share of electricity was exported to Hungary, accounting for nearly 37% of the total volume.

Compared to the previous month, the most significant reduction in exports was to Moldova. However, compared to May 2024, electricity exports increased 22-fold.

According to the study, electricity imports in May increased by 3.6% compared to April. The largest increases in import volumes came from Moldova and Slovakia, though the Hungarian direction continues to hold the largest share at 40%.
