Ukraine and the European Union will jointly develop the “eQueue” project

The European Union, together with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), is joining efforts to develop the “eQueue” project for border crossings.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Communities and Territories Development and the EU have agreed to collaborate on advancing the “eQueue” project. The EU will provide support through the IOM in Ukraine, including funding for technical assistance and engaging experts to further improve the project.

EU support will enable the implementation of technical developments to facilitate predictable border crossings. The Ministry’s team has prepared a plan to enhance the project and improve the “eQueue” system, including further integration with other registries, ensuring legally defined priority for vehicle passage, and other technical upgrades.

Improvements will apply not only to services for trucks and buses but also to a pilot project for passenger cars. Priorities also include installing automatic recording cameras at border checkpoints.

As noted, the “eQueue” system is a Ukrainian digital tool that allows drivers and carriers to manage their time instead of waiting in physical queues at border crossings. The system operates at all checkpoints for trucks and buses exiting Ukraine. Registration in “eQueue” is mandatory for all licensed transport. Since its launch, the service has facilitated over 2 million border crossings.
