Agricultural exports by road transport decreased by 14.4%

The export of agricultural products by road transport through western borders continues to decline. In the first half of June, it decreased by 14.4% compared to the same period in May, reaching 137,300 tons.

The most significant reductions during this period were observed at the Romanian and Hungarian borders, with decreases of 28.8% and 23.8%, amounting to 26,800 tons and 14,300 tons, respectively. Exports through the Moldovan and Slovak borders also dropped by 22% and 16.7%, reaching 23,500 tons and 6,800 tons, respectively. Only at the Polish border did transport volumes remain virtually unchanged, at 65,900 tons.

The main export commodities during this period were sunflower oil (16,200 tons) and sugar-added water (8,100 tons).

The cost of road transport within the country saw a slight increase compared to the previous period. Prices for transportation to European countries have remained stable.

• Central Ukraine – Odesa ports: $22–25

• Cherkasy region – Southern Romania: €100–110

Market rates for transportation by tarpaulin trucks to Europe:

• Ternopil region – Central/Northern Italy: €80–113

• Ternopil region – Central Bulgaria: €55–70

• Cherkasy region – Southern Romania: €61–78
