Ministry of agrarian policy: first meeting of the India-Ukraine working group on agricultural cooperation

The Ministry of Agrarian Policy hosted the first meeting of the India-Ukraine Working Group on Agricultural Cooperation. This marks the beginning of a systematic dialogue between the two countries aimed at strengthening bilateral relations, according to the Ministry’s statement.

The Republic of India remains a key trading partner for Ukraine in the agricultural sector due to its dynamic market and significant demand for agricultural products. In 2024, Ukraine’s export volumes to India reached USD 846.4 million.

Currently, trade with India is largely limited to the supply of raw agricultural products from Ukraine. This opens opportunities for deeper cooperation, particularly in the supply of value-added products and joint investments in agricultural processing.

During the meeting, the parties discussed possibilities for increasing direct supplies of agricultural goods and the prospects for contract manufacturing tailored to the needs of Indian partners.

Special attention was given to the potential for developing joint projects in the fields of agricultural technologies, scientific research, and educational exchanges. Ukraine has a strong scientific and technical base in agriculture and is ready to share its knowledge, experience, and technologies, which can enhance production efficiency and strengthen food security for both countries.
