Ukraine has begun the creation of a Paying Agency, a state institution that will administer financial support for farmers in accordance with European Union standards.

The launch of the Paying Agency is a strategic step for Ukraine's integration into the EU's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP). It is also a key condition that will allow farmers to receive financing from European funds. In particular, under the pre-accession assistance instruments, even before Ukraine’s full membership in the European Union.

The agency will perform key functions: informing farmers, receiving and verifying applications, calculating support amounts, making payments, as well as keeping records, monitoring and controlling the use of funds.

The institution is planned to be created by transforming the Ukrainian State Fund for Farm Support. The relevant bill has already been adopted by the Verkhovna Rada in the first reading.
