Automotive agricultural exports decline in all directions except Moldova

In the first 12 days of May 2025, Ukraine’s agricultural exports by road transport reached 117,000 tonnes, a 12% decrease compared to the same period in April.

“Almost all border checkpoints recorded a decline in export volumes. The largest drops were observed at the Slovak and Hungarian borders, where exports decreased by 24.5% and 22.2%, to 5,900 tonnes and 14,300 tonnes, respectively. At the Polish and Romanian borders, volumes decreased by 12.5% and 12.4%, to 48,500 tonnes and 28,400 tonnes, respectively. Meanwhile, agricultural exports to Moldova increased by 5.4%, reaching 20,000 tonnes,” experts noted.

The main export products during this period were sunflower oil (13,500 tonnes) and sugar (11,500 tonnes).

“Transportation costs within Ukraine by road remain stable, and prices for European routes have also remained unchanged over the past week,” analysts added.
