Cheeses are actively imported to Ukraine

Over the first four months of this year, imports increased by 16.5% compared to the same period last year for all cheeses (HS 0406) and by 20% for aged cheeses (HS 040690).

Estimates suggest that currently, 45% of cheeses on the shelves of domestic supermarkets are imported, while 55% are domestically produced. A little more, and foreign cheeses will account for half of the assortment. The situation with cheeses is the most challenging, requiring effective state measures aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of domestically produced cheeses, as is done in other countries.
