EU Cancels Additional Checks for Seed Imports from Ukraine and Moldova

The Council of the European Union has decided to cancel all additional checks on the import of seeds of beets, sunflowers, rapeseed, and soy produced in Ukraine and Moldova. This decision was made possible after European institutions officially recognized that Ukrainian certification procedures meet EU requirements.

From now on, seeds of key agricultural crops grown in Ukraine and Moldova can enter the European Union market without hindrance. This will allow companies located in the EU to expand their supply sources and diversify their production capacities. It is expected that this decision will support a stable supply of quality seeds to European farmers.

Ukrainian producers will have full access to the European seed market. This significantly enhances Ukraine’s export potential and will contribute to the development of the agricultural sector. The decision will take effect 20 days after its official publication.
