EU increases import quotas for Ukrainian agricultural products

The European Union has increased import quotas for Ukrainian agricultural products as part of an updated free trade agreement.

Specifically, the quota for Ukrainian wheat imports has increased from 1 million tons to 1.3 million tons, sugar from 20,000 tons to 100,000 tons, barley from 350,000 tons to 450,000 tons, and poultry meat from 90,000 tons to 120,000 tons.

These changes are part of a new preliminary trade agreement reached by the EU and Ukraine at the end of June. The agreement covers 40 types of goods and still requires formal approval by a qualified majority of EU member states.
