In 2024, the EU sold goods worth €42.8 billion to Ukraine and purchased goods worth €24.5 billion, resulting in a trade surplus for the EU of €18.3 billion.
Compared to 2023, EU exports to Ukraine increased by 9.4%, while imports from Ukraine increased by 7%. The EU primarily exported mineral fuels (€6.8 billion), electrical equipment (€4.3 billion), and machinery (€4.2 billion) to Ukraine.
Compared to 2021, the largest increase was in mineral fuel exports, which increased by €4.1 billion. This is partly due to Ukraine reducing fuel imports from Russia and Belarus and partially replacing them with supplies from the EU.
In turn, the EU mainly purchased agricultural products from Ukraine, including cereals (€4.4 billion), animal or vegetable fats and oils (€3.1 billion), and oilseeds and related products (€2.5 billion).
