NEURC approved new rules for electricity trade with Moldova

On June 24, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NCRECU) at its meeting, by adopting relevant resolutions, approved the changes submitted to NPC Ukrenergoto the rules for capacity allocation, the structure of capacity allocation, as well as the procedure for distributing revenues from managing restrictions at the Ukraine-Moldova interstate crossing.

An agreement was concluded between the transmission system operators of Ukraine and Moldova on the distribution of inter-zonal capacity between the trading zones of NEC Ukrenergo and SE Moldelectrica, which, in particular, provides for additional distribution of inter-zonal capacity at intraday auctions based on the auction platform of NEC Ukrenergo, and the distribution of revenues from the management of restrictions at the Ukraine-Moldova interstate intersection between NEC Ukrenergo and SE Moldelectrica in a ratio of 50% to 50%.

The capacity allocation structure for the auctions for the allocation of cross-border capacity for each direction of the Ukraine-Moldova cross-border crossing is determined by the transmission system operator, agreed with the transmission system operator of Moldova and agreed in the amount: for annual auctions - 35%, for monthly auctions - 35%, for daily auctions - 30%, for intraday auctions - 0%.
