Cereal crops form the backbone of Ukraine’s organic exports to the European Union, according to the European Commission.
Wheat, corn, barley, and millet account for 42% of exports, while oilseeds and protein crops (soybeans, sunflower, and rapeseed) contribute 38%. Nuts, fruits, and berries rank third.
The EC noted that imports of oilseeds (+23%) and cereals (+8%) increased in 2024 compared to 2023.
Leading companies include:
- Skvyrskyi Grain Processing Factory: Exports 40% of its products, specializing in cereals, flakes, and flour from grains;
- Pole based in Cherkasy: Focuses on growing organic wheat and producing gluten-free grain products;
- Ukroliya based in Poltava: Operates two oilseed processing plants;
- Organic Milk from Zhytomyr region: Specializes in organic dairy production;
- Dunayskyi Agrariy from Odesa region: Engages in comprehensive organic production, from grains and vegetables to melons and their processing.
